Theatre moves forward because someone dares to write the next page. Welcome to the Safe Harbor Play Festival, where new voices are given the opportunity to be heard.
About the Festival
SAFE HARBOR is a curated short play festival produced by Harbor Theatrics that celebrates the power of original storytelling and the artists who bring new work to life.
Presented over two weekends, the festival features four thoughtfully curated performance blocks—Silence, Impact, Becoming, and After Dark—each offering a unique theatrical journey through a collection of original short plays. Every selected production receives two public performances, giving playwrights, directors, performers, and audiences the opportunity to engage with bold new voices in an intimate theatrical setting.
SAFE HARBOR welcomes playwrights at every stage of their creative journey, from first-time writers to seasoned professionals. Through a blind submission process, scripts are evaluated solely on their artistic merit, ensuring every story has an equal opportunity to be discovered.
More than a festival, SAFE HARBOR is a gathering place for artists and audiences who believe theatre has the power to challenge, inspire, comfort, and connect. By removing barriers, encouraging creative risk-taking, and fostering meaningful conversations, Harbor Theatrics is building a home for fearless storytelling and a community where new work can thrive.
Whether you are submitting your first script, premiering your latest work, or simply taking a seat in the audience, we invite you to experience a festival where every story matters, every artist is valued, and every performance has the potential to leave a lasting impression.
SAFE HARBOR is where bold stories find shelter.
