Welcome to Safe Harbor!

You’ve taken the first step.

Welcome to the submission page for the inaugural SAFE HARBOR Short Play Festival. Thank you for considering Harbor Theatrics as a home for your work. Whether you're submitting your very first play or your fiftieth, we're honored to spend time with your story. Through our blind review process, every script is evaluated solely on its artistic merit, giving each playwright an equal opportunity to be discovered. We invite you to take creative risks, write with honesty, and share the stories only you can tell. We can't wait to read your work, welcome you into the SAFE HARBOR community, and celebrate the incredible artists who make new theatre possible.

Some of the most powerful stories are told in whispers. SILENCE is a collection of intimate, reflective plays that explore grief, memory, love, loneliness, regret, and the unspoken moments that shape our lives. These deeply human stories invite audiences to slow down, listen closely, and discover the extraordinary emotions hidden within life's quietest moments.

Change rarely arrives quietly. IMPACT brings together bold, urgent plays that challenge perspectives, confront conflict, and ignite conversation. From personal struggles to societal issues, these stories examine the moments that alter lives forever, reminding us that theatre has the power not only to entertain, but to inspire action and spark meaningful dialogue.

Life is a journey of growth, healing, and self-discovery. BECOMING celebrates stories of resilience, hope, identity, and transformation. Whether overcoming adversity, embracing authenticity, or discovering unexpected strength, these uplifting and emotionally rich plays remind us that we are all works in progress—and that becoming is one of the bravest things we can do.

Not every story is meant for daylight. AFTER DARK is SAFE HARBOR's home for the strange, the unsettling, and the unforgettable. Featuring horror, psychological thrillers, surrealism, dark comedy, and experimental theatre, this block invites audiences to venture beyond the familiar and experience storytelling that lingers long after the curtain falls.
