A melody. A lyric. A story that refuses to be forgotten.

Before every standing ovation, every cast recording, and every curtain call, there was a writer willing to take a chance.

At Harbor Theatrics, we believe those stories deserve more than a place in a drawer or a folder on a computer. They deserve an audience.

The Harbor New Musical Initiative was created to discover, develop, and produce exceptional original musicals by emerging and established writers from around the world. Each year, one musical will be selected to receive a fully staged production as the Season Finale of Harbor Theatrics, along with a $250 honorarium, a guaranteed run of at least six public performances, and collaborative support throughout the production process.

Unlike many submission opportunities, every accepted musical will receive personalized written feedback from our Literary Team. We believe every writer deserves thoughtful consideration, constructive feedback, and the encouragement to continue creating.

To ensure every submission receives the attention it deserves, only 40 eligible musicals will be accepted each year.
