THE HARBOR LIGHT
The selections are in: Safe Harbor Play Festival and VOICE!
Watch Harbor’s announcement, meet the 35 selected plays across four festival blocks, and discover our New Musical Initiative winner.
The selections are in! We’re excited to share the playwrights and stories joining Harbor Theatrics for two celebrations of new work in 2027.
The Safe Harbor Play Festival brings 35 selected plays to the stage across four blocks: Silence, Impact, Becoming, and After Dark. Selected from 141 submissions, each play will receive two performances during the festival, May 13–16 and 20–23, 2027. Visit the festival page for the complete lineup and playwright credits.
VOICE! by Zach Adam and Eidan Lipper is the winning selection of the Harbor New Musical Initiative. In this new musical, a young writer disguises herself to enter a men-only contest while the fairytale she writes comes alive onstage. Inspired by the mythic roots of The Little Mermaid, VOICE! follows a young woman learning to claim her voice and write her own story.
Join us July 9–11 and 16–18, 2027, for a developmental production of VOICE! Watch the announcement above, then explore both production pages for more details.
Congratulations to all of our selected writers, and thank you to everyone who shared their work with Harbor!
